For the second year in a row, The Albany Rifle and Pistol Club are hosting an event they call “The ARPC Experience”. The concept is a day-long competitive event highlighting different rifle and pistol disciplines.
At first, I was thinking of a “big tent” art concept, but the ARPC staff had a better idea: go with the “experience” concept a la Jimi Hendrix and the stylings of the 60s.
For the 2022 event, I designed a poster that with natural elements found in the Willamette Valley including pine trees, the western view of the Three Sisters, the summertime constellation array, and an important symbol of our nation, the bald eagle. I finished it up by adding the brightly colored sun rays found on many 60s-era rock posters.
For 2023 I stayed with the 1960's era stylings, but took it a step further with a very psychadelic take. I put a bobcat on the moon with a rainbow backdrop.
