ANTIcomputer.org nxrm@l.2x21 and 1984

Last summer I created a series of images for ANTIcomputer.org, self-identified as the only site on the internet built without the aid of computers.

For the Summertime 2x21 issue I combined innocuous summer images with what was actually happening in the news and on the streets. Then I added a handwritten faux-coding script to describe what was happening.

For the 1984 issue I created five images and wrote a short essay on my history with computing, and how I became to love/hate computers. I started from when I was a kid and first had a taste of programming in Basic, but soon lost interest. However, it was very clear to me that soon we would need to know how to use one. It was fun to contribute my story, and to add some images in the vein of old-school Mac style with a modern twist. Someone said it reminded them of the classic movie, "They Live".

Check out ANTIcomputer.org. It's a strange place.
